One Direction Concert pt. 2
Welcome back! Here it is people, the post you've been waiting for! It is finally time for us to talk about One Direction's performance during the very first concert of theirs I ever attended. Remember, it is August 29, 2014. I have just had my mind blown by 5 Seconds of Summer. But I truly had no idea what I was in store for.
They opened up with "Midnight Memories", an electric song that surely got the crowd going. To be completely honest, I don't even know if I actually saw them at this moment, through my tears. Yes, it brought me to tears. I had loved, okay been obsessed with, this band for years at this point and seeing them didn't even feel real. I also wasn't pacing myself and surely on my way to losing my voice as I screamed the lyrics. Another song which I do remember absolutely losing my mind over, was "Better Than Words". The boys had moved onto the platform which extended in the floor audience seating, and they were dancing around. They had a way of performing that made you feel as if they were singing just to you. Eventually, we also got to sing "Happy Birthday to You" because this concert just happened to land on one of the members, Liam's, birthday. That was such a beautiful moment because as if we were giving back to him, even if just a fraction, of what he had given us as fans over the years.
Even though it felt like forever, we did finally get to hear "What Makes You Beautiful" near the end. Even if you are not a fan of One Direction, I feel like you may know this song. It played on all our radios for months at a time when it was released. We did get an encore, even though this was the last song right before they left the stage for the last time. It truly did feel like a great ending because it's such an upbeat and happy song that leaves the whole crowd on a high. They left and I thought I couldn't feel any better. I felt like I was on cloud nine. But, that wasn't the end! We were truly in for a treat once we started hearing the beginning music of "You and I".
They stormed the stage with a new sense of vigor. The crowd reached its peak volume as we realized our show wasn't quite over yet. They exceeded all my expectations. Laurel out.

This blog post brought up so many memories. I went to their Take Me Home tour but was just as amazing. Seeing One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer in concert was unforgetable. -Marisa
