I'm Tired and One Direction Songs Are Getting Me Through
I am nearing my college graduation and let me tell you, the stress is real. After my graduation, I plan on moving many states away and the thought of finding housing, a job, and roommates has been weighing on me heavily. Now, I know this is a blog dedicated to One Direction and it seems like we are just talking about me right now, but seriously this band helped me out in major ways this week.
I was going through a rough patch in my day and all I wanted to do was drive around and listen to music. I didn't want to deal with anything or talk to anyone. So, I hopped in my car, turned on Spotify, and drove. "Don't Forget Where You Belong" was first to pop up and I immediately started crying. It was insane how one little song could help me release so much stress. I am not good at letting go of control and this song helped me realize that no matter where I go or what I do in life, I have a home. Now the meaning of a home is different for everyone, but for me, it is my family home. It's where my parents currently live, and it's where I grew up. Listening to the song helped me feel a bit more stable in a time where it literally feels like my entire life is being overturned.
This may sound incredibly cheesy, but I seriously love the peace that old One Direction songs bring me. There is a certain kind of comfort in the reminiscing. Laurel out.
